Work Station installation

Tedd,

Below are two of my batch files.  The first is my regular batch file.  If have one set up for each user because of changes in printers and their own menu directory.  Note V is mapped to \\server2007\F\fpdobc  The (no colon) is because on this server we have a raid system.

@echo off
rem This File created by install shield on 8-25-2004
set PATH=C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND
set PFDSK=V
set PFDATA=V:
set PFPROG=V:
set PFDIR=
set PFLMHOST=server2007
set PFMENU=V:\fp\menus\rick
set PFGLOB=
set PFCONFIG=
set pfprinter=RickHP
set PATH=%pfprog%;%PFPROG%\fp;%path%
echo stuff > fp$$$$$$.bat
del fp$$*.bat>NUL
%pfprog%\fp\p todo

This second one I just set up two last week for some fpWeb testing.  Note that the data is in a folder \\server2007\F\fpodbc\fpweb

@echo off
rem This File created by install shield on 8-25-2004
set PATH=C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND
set PFDSK=V
set PFDIR=\fpweb
set PFDATA=V:
set PFPROG=V:
set PFLMHOST=server2007
set PFMENU=V:\fp\menus\rick
set PFGLOB=
set PFCONFIG=
set PATH=%pfprog%;%PFPROG%\fp;%path%
echo stuff > fp$$$$$$.bat
del fp$$*.bat>NUL
%pfprog%\fp\p

The shortcut on my workstation is V:\fpodbcrh.bat (which is the first batch file listed above).

There are no fp folders, programs, data or menus on any of our workstations.  Only the shortcut.

Sorry to cut this short but have to run to a production meeting.  If the above isn't clear please drop my an email.

Later,
Rick

This is the bat file I use on the server:

@echo off
rem This File created by Ted B on 2-5-2009
set PATH=c:\windows\system32
set PFDSK=d
set PFDATA=d:
set PFPROG=d:\appl
set PFDIR=\appl
set PFMENU=d:\appl\fp\menus
set PFGLOB=
set PFCONFIG=
set PFPRTC=rtf60
set pfpostprint=start /w %pfprog%\fp\fp2rtf\atlantis.exe
set PATH=%PFPROG%\fp;%PFPROG%\fp\fp2rtf;%path%
echo stuff > fp$$$$$$.bat
del fp$$*.bat>NUL
set pflmhost=localhost:6556
%pfprog%\fp\p.exe PubWrk

I have, on the W/S, \\server\D: mapped as Z:.  Pardon  my ignorance here, please.    How would I point to this batch file and the work station properly resolve where stuff is.

Ted,

What are you trying to install to the workstation.  The only thing I have on any of my workstations is a short cut to the batch file loacted on the server.

BTW I mapped my drive to the fpodbc folder.  Although I have never maped to a sub-folder I would suspect it has to do with the fpdir or fpprog varaibles.

Hope this helps,

I am having difficulty facilitating a workstation installation of fP.  It
works fine on the server (W2K3), but I am unable to get the W/S install to
work on a W2K box.  I have the /appl folder on the W2K3 box mapped as the Z:
drive on the W/S, but I still get the error that the files cannot be found
during the install.
