Print Wizard setup in filepro

[sorry top posted]

Rich,

Thank you.  You touched on my problem. I can create the pdf but there are two problems.

1. It is always saved as estimate.pdf because in the printer definition I set C:\estimate.txt. You you list the system command you have to have a unique file name?

2. Does your system command bypass the Print Wizard screen where the user clicks on the PDF creater on the tool bar?

If I can get those two fixed then all I have left is to figure out how to get our logo on the form and possibly create the email.  I know Print Wizard is suppose to allow this but I am trying to do it with as little user interaction as possible.

Thanks again,
Rick hane

Need to hear from someone using Bob's Print Wizard.

How do you have the destination set up in filePro's printer definitions?

example: rickpdf, printxiz, ?????? , Create Pdf

Do you use 1 filename? (ie. C:\filename.???)

Thank you,

Rick Hane

The are a number of ways to do this depending on your what you need to do.

I have an application where my client wanted to option to either print a report or create a pdf. I created a library program which get the parameters for the report and then prompts print or pdf.  I then use a system call with the full command line to either print or send the job to a file.

If a pdf is to be created, I set an environmental variable with the specific file name to be converted.

In my case, I the call a batch file which executes the proper command to create the pfd.
