A little more info on the Iphone thing...

You can set PFTERM=ansi or any existing filepro termcap.  TERM is what UNIX uses 
and PFTERM is what filepro uses if it exists.

Is ansi close to vt220?

I often have TERM=ansi and PFTERM=ansic.  But if the vt220 is similar to a real 
filepro termcap entry, you can just append those entries with the PFTERM setting.

*Remember the filepro termcap is an overlay on the Unix termcap.  I know you 
know that, but I added it for the other users.

Sounds like an interesting trick you are playing with.
