transfer filePro file from dos to unix

When you FTP the prc tables in ascii... You will need to turn ftp's
ascii mode on by typing asc at the prompt. (The opposite being bin for
binary mode.) by doing this ftp will ensure that the line endings are
correct for either side.

P.S. Although I must say I've just noticed a *very* strange problem on my XP
Pro systems. When I enter ASC at the FTP prompt, it says loading ascii mode
(or whatever) acknowledging that is is in ascii mode. Then I do a

Get filename tofilename

And it immediately says "loading binary mode" and then does the transfer....
Very strange. But, the file on the other end did load... At first, I
thought this created a file that did not work... And indeed after several
tries it would not load correctly until I ran a delcr program of my own to
"fix" the line endings the way FTP should have. Then, after the third or
fourth try, things started working correclty... It still always says loading
binary mode... Just before the transfer though. Disconcerting.
