The way I read it there are two other possibilities equally as likely:
3) He worked around it by not using that function and so the fix won't affect him at all.
4) He naturally wasn't using that function in the first place and so he's neither broken now, nor after the fix.
Interesting item. Not so interesting slashdot discussion for the most part though. IE: Since this bug existed, that proves that the whole concept of open source was invalid all along. -headsmack-
