Automatic processing runs when the record is read. In *clerk, this
typically means:
The record is read when you first get there.
The record is read again upon entering update mode, in case there
have been changes made by another process.
The record is read after it is saved and update mode is exited.
Because @key enters update mode, it runs automatic just as it does when
pressing "U" to go into update mode.
