xfer error on windows

When running a batch script to xfer a transferred file from my unix
system to the windows pc, I often get the following error:

The instruction at 0040109b referenced from memory at ffffffff
The memory could not be read from

then the script window freezes and has to be manually closed. I have
the following setup as the script:

set PFDSK=C
set PFDATA=C:
set PFPROG=C:
set PFDIR=
set PFMENU=C:\fp\menus
set PFGLOB=
set PFCONFIG=
set PATH=%PFPROG%\fp;%path%
c:\fp\xfer -r -lf prod.dat

It appears to run the xfer, but I am concerned about it finishing all
the data, and the user complaining of errors.
