Hi all,
Courtesy of Scott Walker, here is a video demonstrating how he has tied
his Unix/Linux filePro-based application into AnsioWin's features for
print-to-PDF and email:
http://www.anzio.com/~ras/rams.wmv
This particular video targets the end user, and doesn't detail how he does
all this. That involves sending a few commands to AnzioWin from the host,
to set how it should deal with the passthrough print job.
Some additional notes:
1. Scott is using a PCL printer driver, causing filePro to translate his
printcodes to PCL sequences. AnzioWin's Print Wizard is translating that
PCL, to render proper fonts, bolding, etc., in the PDF.
2. AnzioWin can send the generated PDF to email by four different methods:
MAPI, CDO, SMTP, and Outlook. This video uses Outlook.
3. Data from the host can specify the entire email info, and run without
user intervention, or, as in this demo, prompt the user to fill in
additional information and confirm the message.
4. Scott is using our VERY latest code, which avoids the security warnings
that Outlook normally pops up.
5. Although not demonstrated here, AnzioWin can also fax reports directly.
I hope this proves interesting.
