Could this be a bug in FilePro? (Was--Weird output with associated field)

There seems to be a lot of confusion here on how to
use associated fields in reports.  The fact is that
based on the output format that you posted (*a1 was in
the detail line I believe), you need to sort by an
associated field.  When you sort by an associated
field, you will output one line for each non-blank
associated field in the associated group by which you
are sorting (unless you deselect some lines) - or
another way to say this is that the record will be
selected that many times.  

The format you posted also showed that you used an
associated field in the sort section (Good!), but you
also mentioned that you are using an input index -
THIS WILL OVERRIDE YOUR SORT (Bad!).

This is why I originally suggested that you use the
sort commands in -v processing.  You need to duplicate
the presumably desired sorting that was shown on your
output format in the -v processing.

While the -j flag does work in request output, I
believe that it is completely besides the point for
your purposes.
