Subject: fpcopy
Is anyone aware of a way to push parameters into fpcopy?
Fpcopy files1 file2 "2","3" (copy file1 to file 2 format and data and remove
any passwords)
Or something similar.
------------
make a shell script that:
hard codes PFTERM and PFME
gets file names and other options from command line or environment as you see fit
build a string of keystrokes using the supplied and/or derived info
pipe the string into fpcopy with echo or printf
I have a pretty old script fpcopyall for a working example.
http://www.aljex.com/bkw/filepro/#fpcopyall
I did use it a lot myself for a while until got rid of all my filenames that fpcopy can't handle natively, but,...
That script makes assumptions that are only true on SCO
(echo syntax)
and other assumptions that are just plain broken but happened to work on my system back then.
(PFDATA, PATH)
and has gobs of stuff that isn't necessarily broken, but also just isn't necessary.
I mostly cleaned it up just now but have to run out and finish & test later, so It's there to look at the crucial echo commands for examples, but I wouldn't run it except on a SCO box and only when PFDATA/PFDIR have been set, until I post the updated one.
This doesn't do the specific job you're asking, it's an example of controlling fpcopy which you would have to adapt or refer to as a reference.
