Those of us who grew up using variations of *roff learned to set
things in units of a particular font, em, en, etc. so that they
automatically adjust depending on the selected font.
FWIW, I still use groff for many things, and sent a resume to
somebody recently who commented on how nice it looked compared to
what she was accustomed to seeing out of M$-Word.
