Closing a filepro application Window

A while back I asked a question as to whether Windows could be configured to
not allow a user to close said application window by clicking the "X" in the
upper right corner. Several contributors responded by saying they knew of
no way to prohibit this within Windows. Now I have two more questions:
1) Is there any possible damage/harm done to the application or data if a
user is simply sitting on a menu when the application is closed in this
method? I assume not but want to be sure.
2) Is there any damage/harm to the data if a user is sitting on a record but
is not in update mode and the application window is closed. I assume the
lockfile would not be reset to indicate there are no users in the
application. Any other problems this would cause (indices, freechain, etc.)
