Our company uses IPAQ's and similar PDA's extensively and have a
number of web based filepro backed pages formatted for PDA's so that
our staff can perform tasks 24/7 as they are sometimes required to do
since we are a 24/7 aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul
business. (And before anyone asks, following the email the other day
about the goats and Nepal airlines, yes Nepal Airlines is one of our
customers and yes they do do the goat thing with aircraft quite
regularly).
On the initial page we "sniff" the browser and return a page formatted
for the PDA rather than a browser on a 17" screen.
Why wouldn't I want to maybe chat in the fpgroup chat room on my PDA
while travelling home on the bus or train or at any other time I only
had my PDA for connectivity.
So don't put it down, it is here and now for filePro apps.
I hate going to web sites that won't/don't work on PDA's. If they
aren't popular why do so many sites, google, hotmail (or whatever it
is called these days), have specific versions for PDA's and
Smartphones as do so many other sites.
Ken
