USPS was privatised years ago.  It's no longer officially a government
organisation, technically speaking.  So...no, not your government at work.

Y'know, recently they're far more dependable than UPS, FedEx, and
definitely DHL.  I've had far more things lost, mangled, etc., by the
"high quality" shipping companies than the USPS.  I've also heard a vendor
tell me DHL is so bad they will ignore anything short of 8 stickers saying
SIGNATURE REQUIRED on a box.  And then, you call DHL to arrange an after
5pm delivery and they somehow deliver at about 1:30pm.

I think I'll stick with USPS when possible.
