The ides of October... and the filePro Conference in Philly

Hey,
It's October 15h. I just wanted to remind everyone that the Philly
conference is only 19 days away! (20 if you count either today which is
almost over... or Sunday, November 4th, which has the opening reception in
the evening.) Yikes! Only 19 days.... I'm not nearly ready... if I work from
now until the starting day, I still won't be as ready as I want. When did
months start going by like days and days start going by like minutes? How
is it 27 years of filePro is behind me instead of in front of me? And since
we are asking all these philosophical questions... Where are those flying
back packs we were promised when we were kids? And is there a place to get
good chocolate chip cookies in Philadelphia? (The hell with cheese-steaks.
If I'm going off my diet, I'm going to do it big time! :-))
Anyway, I know things slip by. I nearly forgot to make a reservation at the
Holiday Inn, City Line for Rick, who works for Nexus. I think he would have
been very unhappy to show up there on Sunday and have nowhere to sleep. :-)
So would you! So, don't forget to make your reservations now! Both online at
http://fptech.com/Company/Announce/20070801.shtml for the conference
admission itself, ad by phone for that all important hotel room
reservation as well to get the $129/night rate at (215) 477-0200.
(Obviously, you must tell them you are with the filePro Conference to get
the good rate.)
Now, was this a shameless plug for FP Technologies and the 2007 filePro
Conference in Philly? Yes, of course it was... and still is if you're still
reading. I will be doing the Keynote for this meet and believe me I'm
excited about seeing everyone I possibly can up here in my neck of the
woods. I'm pretty sure this is the last speaking engagement I will be
taking. Yes, that's really a period at the end of that sentence. Actually,
I'm amazed something convinced me to do this one. (In fact it was a
*someone*... Thank (or blame) Lauren Kelly for that piece of work... she's
good, very good.) Seriously though, I'm in for another operation, and this
one being the 5th in a long line of hits... it's going to be geometrically
that many times more dangerous and unpredictable than the first 8, counting
*all* of them so far. Even if I do recover some sight, I'm pretty damn sure
I won't be doing any more of my infamous "talks". :-) I actually postponed
this operation from October 15th (yikes! That is today isn't it?) to January
15th, the next available date, just so I could do this filePro show.
I knew there was something pulling at my mind today... Hence this Ides of
October invitation/reminder/shameless-plug) for you to get on the stick and
make those reservations. Come and see *me*! oh yeah... there'll be some
filePro stuff there, too, I think. :-)
Don't let this one go by. You'll enjoy yourself (so will your spouse's enjoy
Philly if they can come along...) You'll hear all about the newest filePro
*things* and meet some of the oldest filePro *people*. There'll be some
nifty demos, some free stuff, and some great food and drink. Not too mention
those bar closing discussions that make all the filePro conferences so
really worthwhile! :-)
I'll see you there... well I'll hear you there anyway.

P.S. - For the more jaded, cynical of you out there, here's the mandatory
bit... No I'm not on FP Tech's payroll... and no they don't ask me to dream
up plugs for them. Like I have said many hundreds of times before... I do
this filePro stuff for the pure love of it... and what it has done for my
business's and clients throughout virtually my whole life is just gravy. (I
kind of keep looking for the meat and potatoes, but it's okay this way, too.
:-) C'mon, click the link... dial the phone... they're both open 24/7. Go
for it.
