John,
Thanks for your response, but that was not the problem I reported. Joe
Chasen responded with the suggestion to log in as root and run the utility
that I was having the problem with. Fortunately we solved the problem in a
different fashion by the time I received Joe's response. The DF observation
came about with the alternative approach but posed no great concern as we
restarted the system. It was just a collateral observation and not an area
of much concern.
But thanks for your response in any event.
