The Wyse50 family of terminals have a more primitive interface, with the
most problems caused because field attributes require a space on either
side of the field (e.g. bold, reverse, dim, etc.). The most common
workaround for this is to use protected fields, and set them to reverse
video which allows one to have a single attribute which doesn't take a
space on each side of the field.
They also have limited emulations, most (all) of which send the same ctrl-h
character for the left arrow and backspace keys which can present problems.
I generally prefer dumb terminals that use an ansi emulation as the ansi
control sequences are clean, and generally don't conflict with pass-through
printing codes.
