As others have stated, if you're not swapping, then adding RAM won't
have any affect. (Wel, it may, as some O/Ses will use "unused" RAM
as a disk cache.)
However, since you're apparently talking about dxmaint and *report,
you may want to look up PFMAXALLOC and PFMAXASIZE:
