Since the whole world of new desktops are marching towards ubunutu...

# apt-get install putty putty-tools
# putty
	
	0) Hold Down CTRL-key and right click window to get into settings

	1) select TERMINAL
	2) select KEYBOARD
	3) click on Backspace key to be Ctrl-?
         4) click on Function keys to be SCO

	5) save all the rest of your settings (ssh, IP) as a saved_name

Create a launcher on the desktop
/usr/bin/putty -load saved_name

Let user click on icon on the desktop and have at it. Works exactly like it does 
on that other operating system.
