Hi,

Everyone who purchased the Accounting package will be receiving a Version
1.0.2 CD. They'll go out on Friday or Saturday. This minor version release
has a couple of typos corrected, and 3 (I think) actual fixes to various
things throughout the program. It also has a new feature in it. I was asked
by someone why I took out the ability to take a deposit on account in the
A/R. In other words take money for work that is yet to be done and that will
be invoiced later. Honestly, I looked at that code in the original
accounting from 15 years ago and off-handedly deleted it thinking no one
ever really needed it but the one client I had written it for specifically.
Turns out, I was wrong. It is needed/wanted/demanded :-). So, I've put it
back in.

All of this 1.0.2 stuff can be done now by yourself if you don't want to
wait for the disk. I've put the half dozen changes/fixes into a text file
that takes you step-by-step through what you would have to do to move from
your 1.0.1 CD to version 1.0.2. But, of course, if you can wait until next
week you'll have the CD itself.

I'll be providing all minor releases free of charge, but you'll have to wait
until I send out the group of them all together. If you want/need a minor
release before its group mailing, you can pay $10 and I'll send it to you
immediately by Priority Mail. $5 for the postage and $5 for the hassle of
doing a one-off. Major release changes like 1.1.0 which I will be releasing
probably in May/June, will cost $50. It will be hard to put in $50 worth of
upgrade into these "major" releases... so there won't be many of them. :-)

John

P.S. - Why did I put this note up here instead of mailing it directly to the
people who bought the package? Well, it's not instead, it's also... I will
be sending out a message tomorrow to everyone directly with a link to the
text file of fixes... and the next day or so sending out the actual CD's. I
just wanted to let everybody on the forum know that I *do* send out updates
free, and I do take care of these programs and care about them... after all
that heaped on praise going by, I felt compelled to show that it's not all
fluff. :-)
