I'm doing something similar with HylaFAX except that I forward an
e-mail to my wife with the fax as a PDF attachment that she can
do with whatever she wants.
I've hacked the faxrecvd script to create two MIME attachments,
one a standard fax TIFF, the other PDF. Viewing the TIFF file is
very fast and efficient with the viewfax X11 client while PDF is
more generally useful for people running other software.
