Last time I was in Atlanta it was for a different SF convention, DragonCon,
where there was a parade that featured among other things, about 200 storm
troopers.
There's always an Elvis trooper, and there was a Jimmy Buffet one, and a
team of 6 or so that were intentionally comically crude, constructed out of
white cardboard boxes and plastic mop buckets for the helmets, but the best
was probably the Burger King trooper.
Dragon Con isn't much of a book lovers con though. _huge_ 45k to 50k people
last year, but all about costuming and tv/movie celebs.
I could generally care less about that, but it was still cool having Don S.
Davis (General Hammond) hang out with us at our Stargate party.
And dressing up in costumes and partying all weekend isn't exactly _not_
nun. :)
