Mark:

I need to identify who has a record "open" in a file (in update mode) that
does not allow my processing to write field changes to that file while their
delivery sheet (packing slip) is being processed. At the end of this table
I change the order code from a "B" (binned in their conveyor/sortation
system) to an "R" (reconciled, meaning this order is on the delivery sheet).
If a user somewhere in the building is in the update mode on one of orders
soon to appear on their delivery sheet fP issues an error (Windows has
locked a portion of the file, via the PFSHOWWINERROR=ON environmental
variable).

Using the Manage function on the server tells me which users are accessing
the file but not who has one of the desired records locked (update mode).
At least this is how I understand it.

Unless the "Open Mode" display provides syntax to indicate if this user is
in update mode on a record as opposed to simply viewing a record in this
file.

Let me know if you can shed additional light on this. Thank you,

Don Coleman
