Creation password at runtime

Just my 2 cents, one can create some level of user management within
filepro. I have done this on a number of occasions to control who has
access to data on the system.

That said, as Ken so rightly pointed out with encryption available with
version 5.6, there is no reason not to encrypt important data. Data such as
social security #'s, salary, credit card #'s and any other sensitive data
that one doesn't want curious eyes to easily see.

The problem with pass wording screens, is that one needs to elimate the
ability to change browse lookups or restrict someone from creating a browse
(F6) from another file to one that needs protecting.

Encrypted data will restrict viewing these values in a browse from IUA and
need to be unencrypted through programming when using a browse lookup.

It will take some coding on the programmers part; but in the long run it
will secure the data.

Now, I'll grant that if the internal controls are not in place, even the
encrypted data can be compromised.
