As much as I hate the idea of basic UI elements having installation-
dependent behaviour, I think that there needs to be a way for the coder
of a system to decide whether MEMOs should 1) allow tabs, requiring ESC
or some other function key to exit the MEMO field, or 2) not allow
tabs, permitting TAB to exit said field. 

The default actually likely ought to be the latter, as John suggests,
so you could call this a 'qualified YES' vote, but I think preserving
the former ability for those coders who feel their app requires it
would be useful -- especially since that's the code that exists now.

But I do agree: making SAVE "modal" is a pretty bad approach.
