Fw: error

I tried to get him to use the "text vs binary" functions for ftp... but all
he had was Anzio FTP... and he couldn't see (at the time) how to make any
changes to the transfer protocol. He just clicked on the file and it ftp'd
across (and had the ^Z at the end of it). I'm sure Bob will chime in and
say how to fix this... but for the moment, I just showed him Windows FTP and
how to grab the file using "binary" mode on a file that was xtod'd.... It
would be simpler to just use the ascii mode and let it do the conversion
automatically... (which I think was the first thing I tried with him and for
some reason it didn't work...) The Doctor is always in a hurry because
patients are constantly coming in and out... so we ended up just using what
worked. :-) Dr. Pulliam, if you're reading this. Now that you know how to
to connect with the Windows FTP... try just "getting" the file *without*
turning on BINary mode again... and see if it works. (Don't do the xtod on
the export as it is done from filePro... just try the FTP alone.) Best
case, would be to learn from Bob R. what went wrong when you used the Anzio
FTP. Why it apparently attached the ^Z to the end of the file... (seen as a
big square block in Notepad...) I, unfortunately, don't know. It's probably
something wery simple though.
