I agree.
Even thoug in this case it's sort of easy, obviously he's booting a NT/2K/XP
boot block, which might happen any of several ways, so in order:
- remove any removable boot media (which might possibly include checking the
bios for network boot settings and/or verify there isn't actually a
pxe/dhcp/tftp boot server on the lan)
- verify the active fdisk partition is unix
- re-write the boot sector with a unix one to replace the NT/2K/XP one that
somehow got on there
But even though in this case I beleive I know exactly what this is and how
to fix it, I still always want to hear how a problem went away, _especially_
if unlike this time I spent any time trying to help solve it. Also it's just
good sense to get it into the searchable archives for future reference.
