OT - NTLDR has me down

I have gotten that error about three times in my life. It has always been on
XP... and the cause has always been a floppy in the floppy drive... and the
system set to boot from floppy first.
I hope you didn't bring a machine with a floppy in the drive to your fixit
place. Because, if you did, they screwed you good. Good luck.

Subject: OT - NTLDR has me down

  Running SCO 5.0.5
HP Vectra server "designed for Windows NT /Windows 98"
Backupedge with Recover Edge 2 Boot and Filesystem diskettes"

This is off-topic but I suspect that there more practical UNIX wizards
here
than any other place that I could turn. In the shutting down and rebooting
my system, I got an error message "NTLDR Missing, Press any key
to restart." Of course, pressing any key does nothing other than to
repeat
the message. I have had this error on PC's that I use as terminals. They
were fixed with a 3-4 stay at a shop. But, we can't afford to be out of
the filepro or UNIX business that long, even if we could find a shop that
isn't
  spooked by UNIX.
I have a current (last night) full system tape backup and Recover EDGE 2
diskettes, but I suspect that won't cure my NTLDR woes, or will they?
Any advice or help will be appreciated.
