wish list item...

Lauren,

No offense intended, but in numerous discussions both on and offlist, the
concensus has been that the "official" wishlist ,maintained by someone
that's not directly an employee of fP-Tech to my knowledge, -is- a black
hole, and that nobody at fP Tech likely ever sees those suggestions.

To date, nobody has ever been able to even find out who reviews it, or what
the prioritising process is.

If it's not a black hole, then please let us know as a collective exactly
who (by position, if not name) reviews the official list that Howie
maintains, how often they do so, and how items are prioritised. If it's
really in use, there should be valid, distinct answers to those questions.

Answering them might make people actually believe it's not a black hole.
It's clearly a case of inaction versus accountability. People submit
really good requests, no action is taken, and they want to know what the
process is that precludes pretty much most of the items from materialising
in the product(s). If there's some sort of accountability, that would go a
long way towards assuaging those feelings of uselessness related to the
wishlist that have grown over the years.

Bottom line is that talking amongst ourselves, be it here, posting to a
black hole of a wishlist, or on the official forum, is all well and good,
but it gets nothing done unless there's a paper trail and actual review and
action. Without review and consideration , it's about as meaningful a
wishlist as ones kids make to Santa---because if it's not getting reviewed
by someone, the recipient ostensibly doesn't exist in either case.

This is one of those areas where fP-Tech has hurt themselves through a lack
of transparency and an unwillingness to be forthcoming.

Bests,
