John,

You are forgetting that with 5.6 the 2GB file limit has been eliminated.

So,.......  

This is a question that I asked myself a while back and why I have started
using

Rn(len(@rn),edit(@rn)) in lieu of rn(8,.0)  -- just in case some release has
@rn(9,.0).

Who knows? (I don't think even the Shadow knows) :)
