print bar codes

If you can involve a Windows PC in the printing pipeline (see below), you
can use our Print Wizard software (in some form) to do all this work for
you. Then you do not need to buy a font, you do not need to have barcode
capability in the printer, you do not need to calculate check digits, and
you can print in any of 14 symbologies, with all kinds of options.
You can specify your barcodes using printcodes, and then use our Print
Wizard printer definition file, which outputs Print Wizard Markup
Language. Or, you can output PCL and have Print Wizard translate it; our
translator includes support for the HP barcode cartridge.
If you are running in a terminal emulation environment, you can run
AnzioWin, which has Print Wizard build in for the passthrough print
environment.
Otherwise, you can run Print Wizard Server Edition (PWSE) on a Windows PC
that acts as a (non-dedicated) printer server, and feed the jobs from
Linux to Windows by one of several methods.
IF YOU'RE BRAVE, we're beginning to experiment with Win4Lin, a virtual
Windows environment on top of Linux, and running PWSE on that. Anyone
interested, please contact me.
