Ken & Doug,

I had issues with Dates that were entered with / or - in trying to find
matches in an index or doing comparisons. The solution suggested above
helped force all dates to the same format and made outputs more
consistent. It might be a great function if a date edit allows other
characters as separators why doesn't it change them automatically to a
slash, whenever a separator is indicated?

Like a phone number it would look much better and be somewhat automatic.
Also it might be useful to offer an ENVIRONMENT option to set the
characters. I am seeing more and more dates with periods and it might
be nice to conform all to the same symbol.
