More fP sockets pricing insanity

Guys,

Mark, although your pricing was a little high, look at this for a user
that wants to develop a single user application that needs a socket. I
write my fab application and now I want to sell it.

I will need:

1 single user runtime - $95.
5 user socket license - $975

Total cost for my runtimes: $1070. That is before I add any profit to
pay for my time and trouble.

I think that prices it right out of the market. Now if I could pay
maybe $25/user for sockets, you might have a marketable possibility.

I think the per user cost for ODBC - much more powerful in capability -
is only $35.

I have not even mentioned the user issue for normal stuff. Don't get me
started.

fpTechnologies insists on keeping the image that they are old-fashioned
and out of step with the industry and who am I to make those descisions,
I am insignificant. (What I really am, is a good representation of a
filePro developer trying to market applications written in filePro and
the issues and conserns that entails. I think that makes me a bit
unique because most customers are single companies, in-house developers
or custom installations.)

Sorry I just could not help myself with the pity party stuff.

Nancy
