Associated fields in selection table

Linux rclerk 5.0.14R4.

My file contains an associated field group, here is the map excerpt:

 27 B) Memo Description: 42:*:
 28 Mounting Description: 30:*:
 29 Total @ Rap: 11:.2:
 30 SemiMt Price: 11:.2:
 31 B) Memo Description 2: 42:*:
 32 B) 3: 42:*:
 33 B) 4: 42:*:
 34 B) 5: 42:*:

The B) fields contain arbitrary text. I am trying to compose selection
tables that will find combinations of keywords, for example:

    þ B) þ B) Memo Description co þ emer þ
    þ B) þ B) Memo Description co þ round þ

I find that this will only select records where both strings occur in the
*same* field; it will not search all five fields for each string.

I sure didn't think this was the expected behavior. How can I do multiple
keyword selection against this group of fields using the field
association? The following will work of course, but is too cumbersome
to live:

    þ B) þ B) Memo Description co þ emer þ
 x þ 27 þ B) Memo Description co þ round þ
 x þ 31 þ B) Memo Description 2 co þ round þ
 x þ 32 þ B) 3 co þ round þ
 x þ 33 þ B) 4 co þ round þ
 x þ 34 þ B) 5 co þ round þ
