Thankfully, perl exists for Windows.  :)  You can also pipe and redirect in
Windows as needed for this.  Not a problem.

Also, Ken's suggestion of 'tr' is unix-derived, which is why youdidn't
recognise it.  That's *nix command usually, and while there may be a port
for win16, or included in the Microsoft Unix Services package they came out
with a few years ago (which also contains perl, btw), I don't know of a
native win32 'tr' binary offhand.

If you want just perl for Windows:

     ftp://ftp.activestate.com/ActivePerl/Windows/5.8/ 

If you want a self-contained executable that does the job with -no-
prerequisites whatsoever (ie., does not need perl installed), I'll compile
one for you, but it's going to cost a 1hr minimum charge of $75.  Contact
