There are three things involved in making the Linux intr key be DEL
instead of ^C:

Change what the system expects to see:  stty intr \^C

Change what the console sends: /usr/lib/kbd

Change what X sends (don't remember where this one lives; we don't
bother any more...)

If that's not enough clue, let me know.
