the terminal blues

If you are using the Wyse 3125se ThinTerm computer to access filePro, this
may be of interest to you.

I'm top-posting back to Carol here.

First things first. You mention the tech at Wyse wanting you to put up the
latest version of the firmware... normally, I would whol-heartedly agree.
That is simply the best thing to do all the time... USUALLY! It so happens
that Rick and I (mostly I) went round and round for days just a week or so
ago because I stupidly did this very thing. There were 3 offerings on the
Wyse firmware download page and I took what appeared to be the most
current. Somthing like 5.0... Anyway, we could *not* make the wireless
adaptors work... and a couple other things. The vendor told me that he had
also had trouble with the latest firmware and he reverted back to the 4
level. (This is the first choice on the firmware download page... labled
CE-NET... the one at the top of the 3 choices.)

My suggestion is to downgrade to that specific version and see if much of
your trouble doesn't go away. I can get some help from people here about
Linux and the right setting for PFTERM and the filePro termcap G settings,
but I would try getting the best-known working firmware first. I'm not
saying Wyse is wrong... I'm just saying they are wrong.... :-)
