Ultra-portable terminals

I just did another test you might like to hear about. I installed Audacity
(from sourceForge) on this unit, and plugged in a good Sony stereo
microphone. Now I have a portable audio recorder! It works quite well,
recording from my Bose stereo (through the air).

Interesting side note: A while back I was looking for a good portable
audio recording setup, and I found that this field had been skipped over,
by and large. There were lots of video recorders out there, and dictation
recorders (mono, low quality), but little available to take the place of
an old cassette deck, especially if I wanted to feed line out from a
mixer. I ended up getting a Sony mini-disc recorder, which works quite
well.
