You really pronounce tribune the same as triboon?
(ok pick a real word, baboon)
I think most people would agree there is a Y sound in tribune and none in 
baboon.

It's close but merely close.

I think most people would say zoon in this case too just because even if you 
start out trying to say "zyewn" you reject it immediately and say zoon 
instead.
