How about creating a wrapper for dcabe?  That way you
don't need to remember anything.  Just rename dcabe to
dcabe.org and then create a shell script called dcabe
that that calls dcabe.org and then automatically edits
out the last 18 characters (if the last 18 start and
end with a colon and if there are 3 other colons
remaining)

I'm sure there is at least one guru here that can come
up with a regular expression for this in about 2
seconds or so - It would probably take me at least 10
minutes. :-)
