When penny becomes obsolete

     There have been occasional articles like this for at least 30 years,
where the Treasury has said it costs more to make a penny than it is worth.
Several of these came out the last time the price of copper sky-rocketed.

     Do you think anything will ever come of it?  No matter how much
inflation decreases the value of a cent, there will always be roughly the
same amount of cash transactions every day; probably less, due to more
credit card usage. So the number of pennies required is fairly small and
fairly constant.  Even if the mint proved that it would save a million
dollars a year by eliminating the penny, I don't think we would do it. 

     I certainly wouldn't worry about modifying any filePro code in any of
our lifetimes.
