This is a thought that I've heard mentioned in several different ways
this week.
I would like to clarify a point here.
No, Bud (and whomever else) doesn't have to listen to what his customer
base says.
We don't have to buy his product either.
The major market for filePro at this time is legacy installs. Absent
some *major* (and pretty impressive, hence, expensive) marketing, that
is unlikely to change.
So fpTech finds themselves in the same position as Microsoft: if it's
that much of a hassle to upgrade to Longhorn, why shouldn't people
invest that labor in a much sounder long-term investment: Linux.
I suspect many of the people on this list, even the ones who are
regularly bitching at fpTech for never saying a damn word in public,
would be the first people up to bat for the company. If we had any
clue our investment of promotion would be worthwhile.
