Mark,

I wrote an app in 1992 in which I built in the equivilent of pfcmark to
handle the y2k problem on date specific reports and processing.  Since the
app was using mdy/ for dates, I would use create a dummy field using mdyy/
and add the year in based simply, if the year was prior to "90" the year was
20NN.  Since the was an order entry app, this was a good pivot point.  I
could use sortn if I needed to sort on the date.

Now the actual problem was the computers the app was running on.  They
needed to be upgraded.  When the client upgraded his hardware, I had him
upgrade to fp 5.0.  I never changed any of the internal routines and it
still runs correctly.
