Yes, also creating an alien file will avoid the problem, also a tab
delimited file... Oh, and probably about 7,013 other ways. :-)

Author of JHExport and JHImport. The easiest and fastest ways to generate
code for filePro exports and imports.
Just thought he might want a solution witch was fast, did not involve a lot
of coding.
Since he is using Excel and has a number of formats to use in exporting the
data, this method might be the easy and get the job done.
So, tell me what is wrong with using the available other tools that come
with filePro? He is having a problem. Even if the import is successful, he
is going to have to insure that the data coming in is in the correct format.
Dates and zip codes can get messed up. Date can come down in MS Julian date
format and zip codes can loose a leading 0.
Doing a dbcopy gives on a chance to view the data before it is posted into a
working file. One can then apply any necessary programming to insure that
the posted data is the correct format as to size and edit.
The nice thing about fp is that there are many available tools to that can
be used to accomplish a task
