Subject: RE: Talking databases
Well, the real and test database do have the same tables, fields,
output formats, etc. However, they do not have the same records/data.
There are a couple instances where the data matches in both databases.
These are the ones that need to see each other. I just need to be able to
get one or two fields in the particular table from both databases and
probably put the values into some new fields I'll have to create once I
figure this out.
Two other Non "real Time" solutions come to mind.
1. Create an output file with only the fields you want matched in both
databases. Output the records which need changing. Copy the key to the
other database and run an export process to update the proper file.
2. Do the same using a qualifier
3. Create a CSV file and import it.
None of these are "real Time" solutions. Check With Sue, the ODBC upgrade
may be worth it in the lone run if it keeps you from have to do this
manually. Although you could automate the task using the task scheduler.
