-Hi experts
-My attempt at a alliteration, I know, is very sad
-and there is no lefty
-and any anyone who knows me knows there is nothing
-logical.
-But my customer, that I moved from SCO to Linux is
-having problems with
-lock files. They never had problems like this
-before. ( fptech see my
-recent 10 user Linux license purchase) The
-conversion was real easy
-using cpio & rebuilding all indexes but they have to
-unlock files all
-the time now.
-Any suggestions would be appreciated
-Thanks

Tony -
- I wish filepro would make them go away but
until they do ..
I have since 1989 run a
find /appl/filepro -name lockfile - exec rm {} \;
in the cron every night I cures most of the problems.
if the problem is persistent during the day this wont
help.
You also need to check permissions - I had one client
that the first user would set the lock and no one else
could change it (check who created it .. should be
filePro. If not you will have to make sure users run
"as" filepro. Have to look that one up tho
