What would I like to see in fp .. Export to a 'true' .XLS excel file.
OBC for unix <-> Windows Database connections, Updated SQL Program.
But I can live without them right now.
Would I switch to another database? Yup .. Over my dead body.

Unfortunately I don't have a choice in the near future....
It is true (sadly enough)... Super Radiator Coils **WILL BE** phasing out
filePro and SCO Unix in 2007 and completely migrated off by 2008.
filePro is wonderful and has been for us ever since 1983 (the oldest record in
our order history file). But times change... Autocad drafting in 3D, very
complex engineering design programs, and the need for a stable, 100% compatable
client/server database, are the issues leading us away from filePro.
Speaking of issues, I had a few of my own as you can understand... What becomes
of ME??? i.e.... phase out filePro, you phase out ME!!! :( But thankfully
that is not the case. Let's just say a little bird told me, as far as a
corporation, human resources, and upper management are concerned.... I will be
"salvaged" and will quickly have to get up to speed with SQL, some VB, and most
importantly, to become more well rounded, go get an A+ cert and even better, get
an MCSE. I have to face facts that filePro will eventually be going "bye bye".
I also heard it said that either you look to the future for newer, faster, more
flexible client/server technology, or you'll get buried.
Again, I love filePro and think it is wonderful for what it does. But I guess
Super Radiator Coils is heading in another direction. Wow, what a task this is
going to be with converting all these fP databases to whatever flavor DB we will
be using! Hoo-boy, this is going to be interesting....
