I'd like to move from SCO to Linux because of all the progress that is going
on there...  However, I cannot justify spending that kind of money when
filepro is lacking 2 seriously needed features...  (usable memos and screen
size)

Assuming of coarse that it will be supported on *nix platforms as well as
Windows, unlike fpODBC and not cost a small fortune.  I'm still stinging
from the fact is will cost me over $1000 to move my SCO fP runtimes to
FreeBSD, without a change in versions (on the heels of 5.6 supposedly coming
out, no less).
