It should be pretty straightforward. I would only
install the new version of filepro on the new server.
I see no reason to install 4.8. You should certainly
rebuild all of your indexes once you get them on the
new server.
As for copying files, what I did when I was in your
shoes - although for me it was much more complicated -
I created a series of tar balls, compressed them and
then ftp'd them to the new server. Because there was
so much data, I wrote a script to do this, and I also
wrote one on the other end to check for the files and
un-compress them on the other end.
Depending on how much data you have, and the ulimit on
your machines, you may be able to do this manually
with just one file. When I did this I made sure my
compressed tar balls were less than 1.5 gigabytes or
so.
