Socket question

I have a socket connection application where an alien application connects
as the client to my fP application acting as the server. We have noticed
that my app. exits periodically and we are attempting to discern the
problem. Today we noticed two times where my fP application exited and the
alien application was able to tell us the same number of records (195) had
been transferred between when the app. was started and each exit occurred.
I have written 4-5 different socket apps, all connection with different
alien application and have not sent his behavior previously. Since at least
today we may have a total number of records received causing an exit (I am
not sending a disconnect, socketclose or any other command within my app) I
am wondering whether I may be reaching a memory or buffer limitation within
my app. I have my menu memory value pre-allocated for -t 2000000, it
previously was -t 100000. The alien application says their log shows a
socket error 54-Connection reset by peer. Does that point back to the alien
application causing the problem? My app. does not contain an exit that is
also not accompanied by a msgbox which would have to be acknowledged before
the exit occurs. Fp v5.6, Windows 2000 Advanced Server, and WIN2000 SP4
client w/ 3GB RAM. Any suggestions appreciated.
